Green Hydrogen: Clean Fuel Hype or Real Hope?

Hydrogen is actually produced through burning. During this year, green hydrogen production has been from fossil fuels to the level of about 100 million tonnes. Reforming water is the process of producing Green hydrogen from renewable electricity.
Is there enough hydrogen?
The answer is negative since its production is less than 1 percent of the total hydrogen production according to IEA. The prospects for hydrogen production by 2030 were downgraded by 40 percent.
Why is the price so high?
It was reported in a Harvard Study that there is a price of $500-$1,250 for a ton of CO2 emissions. Moreover, the production cost of hydrogen in China is lower than in Europe or the US and is no less than 40-45 percent. Extra costs come from production and transportation of hydrogen.
In which industries can it be used? – green hydrogen
Hydrogen can be applied in steelmaking, fertilizers, and ships, because there is no other way to replace fuel. Nearly 2% of global CO2 could be cut by replacing grey hydrogen. It needs cheap renewable energy and it’s no cure-all.” Most cars and home heating are more efficient with direct electrification.
