Which Areas in Hyderabad Have Better Environment Quality

There are some parts of Hyderabad that have lower congestion, cleaner air, and more greenery than other parts of the city. These areas are mainly on the city outskirts and in designated planning areas.

Rajendranagar/Laxmiguda Belt: This area has been identified as one of the cleanest air quality pockets in the city and is attributed to its trees and low traffic levels.

Gandipet & Kokapet: These areas are located near a lake and provide plenty of open space. The ample open space allows better air circulation and lower temperatures (heat).

Shamshabad, Thukkuguda, and Maheshwaram are areas in south Hyderabad that are developing into clean-air zones due to their lower population density and the presence of trees around the area.

Sainikpuri & Yapral: These defence-oriented areas provide good tree cover and are controlled in terms of development, resulting in lower pollution levels than other parts of the city.

Lower vehicular density, ample tree cover, and improved airflow makes these areas generally healthier locations in which to live.

Moderately Good Areas (Balanced Living)

Some areas of the city have a blend of urban convenience with good environmental quality, although they may not have the same level of air quality as outer-lying areas.

Banjara Hills: A good amount of tree cover and planning, but these two factors can be affected by traffic.

Kondapur, Miyapur, Bachupally: these are emerging residential areas that are being designed with well-planned layouts and many new growing tree projects.

Central University area (Gachibowli): The Central University area has consistently been reported to have good air quality levels based on AQI monitoring data.

Moderately good air quality is expected for these areas; they have experienced and will continue to experience moderate levels of pollution due to urban growth.

Areas with Poorer Environmental Quality

Some regions consistently have higher levels of pollution because of traffic, factory activity, or population density.

Areas such as Sanathnagar, Kukatpally, and Madhapur have dense traffic during the day and construction, resulting in increased levels of air pollution. 

Areas such as Charminar, Nampally or the industrial zones have high levels of density, so they have very poor air quality as a result of high levels of population density and commercial activity. 

The Zoo Park or Bahadurpura belt has some of the worst AQI conditions because of the amount of traffic and congestion. 

All of these areas have very little tree cover, but are also suffering from dirt or emissions; this has led to them having some of the worst environmental conditions in the City of Hyderabad.

The environmental quality in Hyderabad is very much related to the amount of urban development and the amount of density in the surrounding area. 

If you want to have good quality of life and clean air, then locate yourself in the more rural, less dense areas within the greater Hyderabad. 

You may find it easier to have access to most of the amenities located in the urban areas, but these areas will likely have reduced levels of air quality.
