Political Prisoners: Hundreds protest in London as jailed climate campaigners’ appeals are heard

Climate change has turned into a much bigger issue than before. This largely anthropogenic crisis is pushing global temperatures to unprecedented levels and is likely making natural disasters such as floods, hurricanes and fires more frequent and intense.

Hundreds of protesters recently blocked the road outside the high court in London as the appeals of 16 jailed climate campaigners are being heard. The Just Stop Oil members are serving a combined 41 years in prison.

Their supporters sat on the road in silence holding placards proclaiming them “political prisoners”. No arrests are made in relation to the demonstration as the protesters did not cause any serious disruption. Keep an eye out for more updates.
