Nissan Revolutionizes EV Charging with Tesla Supercharger Access and New NISSAN ENERGY Charge Network
Nissan reveals groundbreaking innovation targeting its EV owners in North America. Starting from Q4 2024, introduced earlier, Nissan EVs will be able to use over 18k Tesla Superchargers across the continent, which will open up a plethora of new charging locations for Nissan EV owners. As with the new NISSAN ENERGY Charge Network, such a step is evidence of Nissan’s efforts to improve and bring value to the experience of owning an EV and establishing itself in the developing world of electric vehicles.
Efficiency of Charging Experience through the NISSAN ENERGY Charge Network
The NISSAN ENERGY Charge Network is expected to be rolled out before the end of this fiscal year, November 2024, and will change the way Nissan EV users charge their vehicles while on the move. With this new feature in the MyNISSAN app, users will be able to find charging locations, view current status, and pay for them at the touch of a button. The network has the ability to access well over 90k Fast Chargers all across the United States, where it also collaborates with several charging service providers including Electrify America, Shell Recharge, ChargePoint and eVgo.
By integrating these services, Nissan plans to remove the complexity of owning an electric car and manage a public charging station all under one app The MyNISSAN app allows a user to save their preferred payment method and start a charging session by simply tapping their smartphone screen. Such integration is intended to create a smooth experience enabling Nissan Ariya owners and future Nissan EV drivers to charge their cars freely.
Expanding Charging Options and Future-Proofing Nissan EVs
Besides NISSAN ENERGY Charge Network, Nissan is doing what is possible to make sure that their EVs are to charge with various standard network. Highway congestion will not be an issue this year; toward the NACS Nissan will release an adapter for Ariya owners to utilize Tesla Supercharger stations. This move greatly increases the available charging points for Ariya owners, which is one of the main issues facing EV adoption – charging infrastructure.
The company’s vision for 2025 includes embedding NACS ports straight into Nissan electric vehicles for the US and Canada. Such a progressive approach reflects the company’s vision of sustainable mobility defined by The Arc mid-term business plan. The strategy entails a plan to introduce as many as 16 new electrified models across the world by the end of fiscal year 2026, which would prove Nissan’s commitment to promoting advancement in the EV market.
