List of celebrities losing homes in California fires: Oscars 2025 nominations postponed
Fires raging in and around California are burning the homes of scores of celebrities, including Paris Hilton, Mandy Moore, Billy Crystal and Jamie Lee Curtis. Firefighters are trying to bring the deadly blazes tearing across the area under control.
Tens of thousands of people are fleeing the area, leading to long traffic jams. Crystal and his partner, Janice, noted in a statement on January 8 that their home of 45 years in the Pacific Palisades neighbourhood has been affected.
Their neighbourhood is a hillside area along the coast featuring scores of celebrity residences. The Oscar nominations are also being delayed a couple more days to January 19 to accommodate members affected by the fires raging in California.

Mandy Moore has also lost her home near Pasadena. “Honestly, I’m in shock … My children’s school is gone … So many friends and loved ones have lost everything too,” the actor-singer noted in a post on Instagram, including a video of devastated streets.
Paris Hilton posted a media clip on Instagram and said it included footage of her destroyed home in Malibu. “The devastation is unimaginable,” she expressed. Jamie Lee Curtis noted in a post that her family is safe but suggested that her home is possibly on fire.
California officials are yet to give an estimate of structures damaged or destroyed in the fire. But they highlighted that nearly 30,000 structures are under threat and at least 70,000 residents are under evacuation orders.
