Leonardo DiCaprio Endorses Kamala Harris, criticises Trump for ignoring Climate Change
Actor Leonardo Dicaprio who is one of the leading actors of Hollywood and a prolonged climate activist since 1998. He raise voice against the severe climatic changes and the consequences, which became more effective after the establishment of “Leonardo Dicaprio Foundation”. It can be witnessed in his social media handlings like Instagram and X.
On Thursday, he posted a video which was about the recent hurricane disaster that hit the Southeastern US, which resulted in the death of around 123 victims as per the report given. He accused the Former President Donald Trump for ignoring the serious global crisis and claims that climate change plays a huge role in such natural calamities. Dicaprio endorsed Kamala Harris for her timely climatic actions with the goal to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050. He backs that this will help the country in many critical plights. He strongly advocated for the Presidential Candidate of the Democratic Party.
“Donald Trump continues to deny the facts. He continues to deny the science. He withdrew the United States from the Paris Climate Accords and rolled back critical environmental protections. Now he’s promised the oil and gas industry that he’ll get rid of any regulation they want in exchange for a billion-dollar donation” said Dicaprio.
And continued, “Climate change is killing the earth and ruining our economy. We need a bold step forward to save our economy, our planet and ourselves. That’s why I’m voting for Kamala Harris. She helped lead the most significant climate action in U.S. history, including passing the Inflation Reduction Act. Under her leadership, we set ambitious targets for achieving net zero emissions by 2050 and building a green economy that not only creates jobs but also helps save our planet”
“Join me in voting for Kamala Harris on Nov.5, because we cannot afford to go backwards” with this he concluded.
Based on the report of Center for Information and Research the population of young voters who are below the age of 27 are estimated as 8 million. The celebrities and their influences are expected to play a huge role on the voting day which is on November 5, 2024.
