People all throughout the world are taking the lead in the battle against climate change and urging their governments and businesses to act to save the environment and guarantee that everyone has a safe place to live. Tree planting, creative recycling systems, school strikes and pleading with businesses and governments to do their share are all examples of grassroots efforts. Ilyess El Korbi – Ukraine:
Ilyess, a Ukrainian native was raised in Morocco before returning to Ukraine at the age of 14. In 2019 Ilyess found that no protests for the climate movement had been registered in Ukraine when they wished to participate. Together this has been changed with close friends and now “Fridays For Future Ukraine” has Ilyess as its board secretary.
Ilyess was in Kyiv at the time of the Ukrainian war but Ilyess was lucky enough to escape to Berlin shortly thereafter. Now they are talking about the climate catastrophe and the situation in Ukraine with other climate activists in Germany.
Greta Thunberg – Sweden:
In order to protest the lack of climate action, Greta Thunberg started her climate activism by going on a Friday strike. She spread her message by giving powerful addresses at important gatherings such as the UN Climate Action Summit.
Her efforts and statements have put pressure on international leaders to take more immediate action to combat climate change. She became one of the top 10 environmental advocates in this profession as a result. Millions of people are calling for stronger climate action as a result of Greta Thunberg’s school strike for climate change, which sparked a global youth movement.
David Attenborough – UK:
David Attenborough’s documentaries have helped millions of people appreciate biodiversity by showcasing the beauty of nature. He actively promotes conservation initiatives by drawing attention to the catastrophic effects of climate change on ecosystems.

Vandana Shiva – India:

Boyan Slat – Netherlands:
Boyan Slat is the founder of The Ocean Cleanup, a group that is creating cutting-edge technology to eliminate plastic trash from the ocean. Among the creative ideas offered by the group are passive systems for capturing floating garbage.
By offering a practical answer to the issue of ocean plastic waste and increasing awareness of the significance of protecting marine habitats, Slat’s effort tackles a pressing environmental concern.
Lesein Mutunkei – Kenya:
Kenyan environmental activist Lesein Mutunkei, a 17 year old man has managed to combine his two biggest passions, football and the environment. Lesein has made a commitment to plant 11 trees one for each member of his football squad each time he scores a goal there since 2018. He is now urging other clubs and schools to carry out his Trees 4 Club project.
Vanessa Nakate – Uganda:
By founding the Rise Up Movement, Vanessa Nakate gave African youth a forum to participate in climate advocacy. She speaks to the international world about climate justice highlighting how African countries have been most severely impacted by climate change.
Nakate’s advocacy shows the need for a more inclusive and equitable global response to climate change, ensuring the concerns of vulnerable regions are at the centre of debates.
Xiye Bastida – Mexico:
Xiye Bastida is a well-known advocate for climate justice and Indigenous rights pushing for laws that give priority to underserved groups. She highlighted the value of indigenous knowledge in environmental solutions by taking part in important climate events.
