Restoration Effort Aims to Link Nature Areas Across State Lines
To preserve and restore the conservation land of New Hampshire a visionary project ‘Lakes Region Restoration Project’ has been introduced.

The Lakes Region Restoration Project, a far-sighted environmental initiative that focuses on recovering the conservative lands across Maine and New Hampshire. This plan centers around the Magalloway region in Western Maine with this 78,000 acres of forestland will be protected permanently which aims to connect with 500,000 acres of already conserved areas across the two states creating a vast and continuous corridor of protected wilderness.
Significant Achievement of the Project
- It is a project led by the coalition of four conservation organization in partnership with logging company
- It aims to balance ecological preservation and sustainability.
- It is a coordinated effort to achieve environmental goals.
- Key Focus – Magalloway River Ecosystem and its variety of wildlife habitat.
Overall, this restoration efforts also carries significant climate benefits such as the forests in this region act as major carbon sinks and the extended stretch of these protected land will allow the wildlife migration and adaptation as the climate continues to change.
