Green Climate Fund helping strengthen climate resilience in Kenya and Serbia

The Green Climate Fund has approved funding for a couple of FAO-led projects valued at more than $130 million to bolster climate resilience and promote sustainability in Kenya and Serbia. These projects are expected to benefit beyond 6 million people.

These projects are aimed at addressing the interconnected challenges of climate change, energy security, forestry and agriculture. In Kenya, the $50 million project is going to transform agricultural value chains in the Lake Region Economic Bloc.

In Serbia, the $84 million project is aimed at enhancing the resilience of forests, contributing to energy security and supporting 3.6 million people. Serbia seeks to protect forests, ensure energy security and promote sustainable economic progress.
