Global Plastic Action Partnership: 25 countries unite to fight against plastic pollution

The Global Plastic Action Partnership has recently added 7 members, including Gabon, Guatemala, Kenya and Senegal, bringing its commitment to 25 countries and a combined population of more than 1.5 billion people.

Plastic pollution continues to pose an urgent challenge. This notable expansion solidifies GPAP as the largest global project dedicated to fighting against the root causes of plastic pollution and introducing a circular plastics economy.

Reaching this milestone is a testament to the global determination to tackle one of the most pressing challenges globally. Plastic pollution is also a significant contributor to climate change, responsible for an estimated 1.8 billion tonnes of emissions annually.
