About the Global Partnership on Nutrients Management:
Our daily lives depend on nutrients, which are found in the food we eat and the air we breathe. One of the most crucial nutrients, nitrogen, is heavily utilized in fertilizer production. Use of fertilizers containing nitrogen and phosphorus is essential for half of the world’s food security.
Due to the significant negative effects of industrial and agricultural activity, such as the contamination of water supplies and the destruction of significant ecosystems and the services and livelihoods they support, an excessive application of these fertilizers frequently ends up in our environment. This emphasizes the necessity of local, regional, and global sustainable nutrient management.
The Global Partnership on Nutrients Management (GPNM) is a coalition of organizations working to improve the sustainable management of nutrients. The GPNM promotes the use of science-based approaches to reduce nutrient pollution and improve food security.
