Join on November 8 for the highly anticipated launch of the 2023 Production Gap Report. This report presents a crucial examination of global fossil fuel production within the context of the temperature goals outlined in the Paris Agreement. Engage with leading climate experts and the report’s authors as they unveil groundbreaking findings, in-depth assessments, and updated analyses.

About the Report
The Production Gap Report serves as a vital tool for tracking the misalignment between governments’ planned and projected production of coal, oil, and gas and the global production levels necessary to achieve the temperature goals set by the Paris Agreement. Now in its fourth edition, this year’s report features two significant updates to the production gap analysis. It draws on changes in government plans and projections since August 2021 and incorporates data from the new mitigation scenarios database compiled for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s Sixth Assessment Report.

The report offers a more detailed assessment of the global coal, oil, and gas reduction pathways required to keep the 1.5°C goal within reach. Additionally, it provides individual country profiles for 20 major fossil-fuel-producing nations, evaluating their latest climate ambitions and their plans, policies, and strategies related to fossil fuel production and the transition away from it.
