The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change has released a new assessment and warned that the climate crisis is already at the cliff edge and global greenhouse gas emissions stay at dangerously low levels. According to the panel, if we don’t act now, we will face even more harmful consequences, that might reach catastrophic levels. We need to make drastic reductions in emissions over the next three decades in order to avert this crisis.
The United Nations Secretary-General is convening a Climate Ambition Summit in New York on September 20, 2023. The Summit will serve as an important political achievement illustrating that there exists collective global will to lope the swagger and magnitude of a just shift to a climate-resilient global economy which is based on a more equitable renewable-energy.
