Climate action together: UAE pavilion at COP28 Baku to co-create solutions
The entire global community is looking ahead to the COP29 Summit in Baku from November 11-22. The UAE is also participating in the climate conference. The Gulf state has plans for a national pavilion on the theme “accelerating action together”.
Speaking about the plans, the UAE assistant minister of foreign affairs for energy and sustainable affairs highlighted the country’s steadfast commitment to climate action and accelerating energy transition to address the Paris agreement goals.
UAE pavilion at COP29 to host dynamic conversations
In 2023, the UAE hosted the COP28 Summit at Expo City Dubai, convening thousands of people from different countries. The conference achieved a huge success on its first day itself as participants agreed to operationalise the Loss and Damage Fund.
The GCC nation is supporting Baku as global leaders, experts and entrepreneurs arrive in the city to find solutions to some of the most pressing challenges. The UAE commends Baku’s leadership in encouraging further collaboration and action for a climate-resilient future.
The UAE pavilion at COP29 is going to host dynamic conversations through its robust programming schedule, including topics such as mobilising climate finance for the Global South, driving decarbonisation for hard-to-abate sectors and using the strength of artificial intelligence.
The pavilion is set to present the UAE’s climate journey, highlighting the UAE Consensus reached at the COP28 Summit, the previous climate conference’s legacy, and the UAE’s progress across biodiversity, climate finance and food systems.
Exchanging ideas and co-creating solutions at COP29 Baku
The UAE pavilion at COP29 Baku is located in the Blue Zone. It’ll bring together climate experts, government officials, private sector leaders, academics and youth for more than 60 thematic sideline programmes, to exchange ideas and co-create solutions.
Climate change has turned into one of the most serious issues humans have ever faced. The need for adequate climate finance has never been this urgent. The topic is going to remain at the centre of the upcoming climate conference.
