2025 UN Climate Summit Host Brazil Found Trading Illegal Luxury Timber

The EIA (Environmental Investigation Agency) has reported a shocking trade that occurred this year between the COP (Conference of the Parties) state which refers to the Brazilian State of Para who is going to host the most significant summit of the year “2025 UN Climate Summit” and the western countries. Around 2000 illegally harvested timber are taken from the COP state and carried via container ships to reach its destiny such as Europe and US.

“The findings suggest a pervasive culture where corrupt deals and the manipulation of legal frameworks are widespread” said EIA

The recently submitted reports of EIA includes the satellite imagery, interviews and records of the industry sources which ensures the illegal cultivation and trading of timber that are grown in Brazil about 53,000 cubic meters. Meanwhile, there are proofs which ensures the sanction given for illegal gold mining too.

To further confirm this allegation look into this secret operation “Operation Maravalha” which was undertaken by the Brazilian Environmental Agents which is dated more than a year long plan and in February 2025 they succeeded in seizing the truckloads that recorded more than 5000.

“The idea behind th  is operation is for us to contain the extraction of illegal timber in the Amazon, which is the first step to deforestation” said Jair Schmitt, Head of Environmental Protection at Ibama.

Such continuous deforestation of certain valuable timber woods of Amazon has pushed them to the status of endangered. Previously, a huge heated debate is going on among the environmentalists across the world stating that it looks irony to witness Brazil cutting down thousands of forest trees for constructing the road ahead of this global event “UN Climate Summit”.
